Increasing demand for hand sanitizer
Cleenol is luckier than many companies, benefitting from a surge in demand for cleaning products across all industries. To meet this demand, Cleenol has had to make huge changes to production in a very short period of time, relying on our dedicated employees to make significant efficiencies within the production process. This hard work has resulted in an impressive 40% increase in production, allowing us to meet the demands of all our valued customers.
Yet the sudden increase in demand attracted some unwanted side effects including racketeering and theft. Cleenol only sells to channel customers, but during the height of the first wave of the pandemic, some of our products were being sold on to the public at exorbitant prices by unscrupulous individuals. We have worked hard to prevent this from happening by identifying the route to market and blocking it.
We supply clients such as the MoD and schools, essential businesses and the NHS (coincidentally, the NHS has said that our hand sanitizer is the best they have ever used!) so it is essential that our products get to where they’re needed most. We also had to increase security around our factories to prevent theft.
Implementing social distancing
As with all businesses that continued operating throughout the first wave of the pandemic, it was essential for us to adapt our working practices to provide the maximum level of safety for our staff. So extra cleaning regimens were implemented, rotas were changed to prevent cross-over and space was maximised to enable effective social distancing, with some office-based staff working from home.
Care home laundry repairs
COVID-19 also made daily operations more challenging for our engineering team. In particular, trying to support care homes across the country with laundry machine repairs has been very difficult throughout the pandemic.
Despite the difficulties, Cleenol has responded with the usual level of positivity and problem-solving attitude. Before attending any care home, we ensure that our staff understand the individual COVID-19 safety guidelines for that particular home. We also provide staff with all the necessary protective equipment to keep our staff, your staff and care home residents as safe as possible. By adapting our procedures and benefitting from the dedication of our staff we have been able to continue to support care homes across the nation with laundry repair services.
Effectiveness of non-alcohol hand sanitizer
Finally, media speculation on the effectiveness or otherwise of non-alcohol based hand sanitizer only led to further confusion so Cleenol’s experts put together a white paper in an effort to clear up any confusion on the topic.
We’re sure that COVID-19 will present us with more challenges, but we will continue to adapt in a responsive manner to ensure that our excellent customer service is uninterrupted.
